My name is Joanna Mason and I am a Yoga Teacher in the North West of the UK. I am opening my own yoga studio in January in my town, giving up the day job of secondary school teacher.
I came to yoga over 20 years ago. I have always taken part in endurance events, and have been a fitness instructor for over 20 years. I took a yoga class to help with tightness in my hamstrings and back and was hooked. Not only did I enjoy the physical practice, but I found that the space, both physically and mentally was absolutely what I needed. I have found that meditation has helped me enormously over the years, but my practice has been sporadic.
I qualified as a yoga teacher in 2015, and started to take more time to add meditation into my daily life. When I decided to open the studio, I knew that I wanted to have meditation on the timetable, and I am really excited to be offering my first classes in January.
